Both rinks

  • Skate at your own risk.
  • Anyone on the ice must wear skates.  No exceptions.
  • Helmets are strongly encouraged for all participants.
  • Hockey sticks and pucks are NOT allowed during open skate.
  • During open skate, figure skaters should use the center of the ice.
  • No more than 3 people may skate together--no chains or trains.
  • Skating in a way which is dangerous or could interfere with other skaters' safety is prohibited.  Anyone skating in this manner will be asked to leave the ice and not return.
  • Foul, abusive or obscene language is not permitted.
  • Eating or drink on the rink is prohibited.
  • All visitors must respect the facilities and report any person damaging property to a member of the rink staff or local authorities.

East, refrigerated rink only

  • An adult chaperone (age 18 and over) is required.  The chaperone will collect participant fees and monitor activities.  The chaperone has the right to discipline anyone not obeying the rink rules, including the removal of anyone from the rinks.
  • It is your responsibility to check DIBS to ensure a chaperone is signed up for an open ice session.
  • Youth open hockey (14 and under) will be split when the time is not scheduled for specific age groups.  Bantams (14U), PeeWees (12U) & Squirts (10U) on one end of the ice and Mites (8U) & Mini-mites (6U) on the other end
  • FULL HOCKEY EQUIPMENT required during open hockey.  No exceptions.
  • FULL FACE MASK required during open hockey for anyone under the age of 18.  No exceptions.
  • Adult open hockey is restricted to anyone 15 and older.  No exceptions.
